Atiq Bajwa is an accomplished industry expert in Risk Management and Business Continuity Management with 30+ year experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry.
Starting his career with Oil & Gas in Canada, Atiq joined SABIC (the 3rd largest Petrochemical company in the world) and held a number of middle and senior management positions in various areas of SABIC business during his 25 years career with the company.
Atiq was involved with the several grass-root and expansion projects from engineering to construction, commissioning and start-up. He managed various Petrochemical units including Utilities, Isomerization, Dehydrogenation, MTBE synthesis, Polypropylene and other process units where he was responsible for managing all the technical and administrative affairs of these world-class petrochemical facilities.
As a Global Director, Atiq led a Global Energy & Sustainability Department where he developed the framework and governance and deployed the program in Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asian Pacific.
After the successful deployment of the global sustainability program, he led the Global Business Continuity program deployment as a Global Director where he led the development of framework, work processes and global implementation.
Atiq’s hands-on experience and extensive exposure in all areas of the Petrochemical business globally distinguishes him from most other service providers.
Atiq holds following Certifications:
- Certified Senior Lead Risk Manager (ISO-31000)
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO-9001, ISO-22301, ISO-45001
- MBCI (Member, Business Continuity Institute, UK),
- CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) by Disaster Recovery Institute International
- PECB Certified Trainer for the ISO courses above.
- Approved Trainer by BCI, UK to teach all BCI courses including CBCI courses.
Atiq is member of various professional organizations such as IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers) Canada, Institute of Power Engineers Canada, Association of International Energy Engineers and Saudi Council of Engineers.
